  • The Ministry of HRD along with AICTE, Persistent Systems, i4C and IIT Kharagpur hosts the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2018 – Hardware edition from June 18 to June 22, 2018.

  • Union HRD minister Prakash Javadekar said that the Smart India Hackathon 2018 is in line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative and is proving to be an important vehicle for hunting new ideas and help them convert them into products and businesses.

5. NITI Aayog announces 3000 additional Atal Tinkering Labs

  • NITI Aayog announced its plan of creating additional Atal Tinkering Labs under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM).
  • For this purpose, it has selected 3000 additional schools for the establishment of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs). In total there are 5441 ATL sponsored schools.

  • The selected schools will receive a grant of Rs 20 lakh in the next five years to establish Atal Tinkering Labs for nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among secondary school children.

8. Jane Fonda to receive Lumiere Award

9. Mobile banking rank by SBI’s Annual Report: Paytm tops by Volume and Axis Bank tops by value

  • Standing at 17.2%, Axis bank has the highest value share of mobile banking transactions.
  • Paytm tops the chart by volumes of 22%.
  • ICICI bank has 17.1% share by value and 9.7% by volume.
  • As per January 2018 statistics, SBI has 19.5% by volume and 16.8% by value of share.
