- Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri lead the home side to Intercontinental Cup title victory with a 2-0 win over Kenya in the summit clash.

2. French Open 2018: Rafael Nadal beats Dominic Thiem to win 11th title
- World’s No. 1 ranked tennis player Rafael Nadal won the 11th French Open title by beating Austrian Dominic Thiem in straight sets.

3. Northern Railways to monitor the cleanliness of its trains using WhatsApp
- Northern Railways have created separate WhatsApp groups for each department to monitor the cleanliness of its trains supervised by senior officials.

- CCTVs are going to be installed in 340 coaches to monitor cleanliness and safety.
4. V K Singh Flags Off 1st Batch Of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
- 1st batch of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra-2018 (11th June to 8th September) in New Delhi was flagged off by the minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh.
- There are two routes for the Yatra, one through Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and the other route through Nathu La Pass in Sikkim.
5. Centre Launches ‘Rail MADAD’, ‘Menu On Rails’ Mobile Apps
- Railway minister Piyush Goyal launched two mobile applications ‘Rail MADAD’ and ‘Menu on Rails’, to ease the traveling experience.
- Rail MADAD is for lodging of complaints by travelers.

- Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh was created with a lump of one lakh crore rupees to make additional funds available for safety-related works.

- In terms of sending students for foreign studies, India stood in second place following China.
- At present 1,86,000 Indian students are studying in the United States.

7. WHO congratulated India For Reducing Maternal Mortality Ratio By 77%
- WHO complimented India’s work in reducing the maternal mortality ratio (MMR) by 77%, from 556 per one lakh live births in 1990 to 130 per one lakh live births in 2016.

11. PSBs suffered losses of over Rs. 87,000 cr
- In the financial year 2017-2018, public sector banks posted a huge loss of Rs. 87,357 crores.
- Scam-hit Punjab National Bank (PNB) topped the list with a hit of nearly Rs. 12,283 crore followed by IDBI Bank.

12. Cash with public doubles since note ban to record ₹18.5 tn
- A data from RBI showed that the currency with the public is beyond ₹18.5 trillion, more than double from a low of ₹7.8 trillion post demonetisation.
- The total currency in circulation has also more than doubled to over ₹19.3 trillion from post-demonetisation low.
- Notably, the currency with the public stood at about ₹17 trillion before demonetisation.
