RRB ALP 2018 Age Limit and Eligibility Criteria

Indian Railway Recruitment board has released the notification for recruiting of Assistant Loco Pilot 26502 posts. Railway Recruitment Board conducts RRB ALP & Technician Stage 1 (Prelims) & Stage 2 (Mains) in online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and it will be taken place in the months of April and May 2018. RRB exam will be conducted in written tests in two stages namely the First stage CBT or computer-based test and the Second Stage CBT. The details of Age Limit, Age Relaxation and Educational Qualification are below.

A. Age Limit

18 to 28 years. The lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts and the same shall be reckoned as on 01.07.2018.

Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:

3 Ex-Servicemen candidates who have put in more than 6 months service after attestation Up to the extent of service rendered in Defence plus 3 years
4 Candidates ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 5 years
5 Candidates who are serving Group ‘C’ and Erstwhile Group ‘D’ Railway Staff, Casual Labour and Substitutes in Railways who have put in minimum of 3 years service (continuous or in broken spells) 40 Years of age, 43 Years of age and 45 Years of age
6 Candidates who are working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes Up to the length of service rendered (or) 5 Years, whichever is lower
7 Persons With Disabilities (PWD) UR 10 Years
8 PWD OBC-Non Creamy Layer 13 Years
9 PWD SC/ST 15 Years

1. No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non Creamy Layer) candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.

2. PWD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable for UR PWD only.

NOTE: Candidates should note that the date of birth filled in this application should be same as recorded in the Matriculation /SSLC or an equivalent certificate. No subsequent request for its change will be considered.

B. Educational Qualification

1. Candidates should have the Educational/Technical qualifications indicated for notified posts in the CEN from recognized Institute/University as on the closing date for submission of the ONLINE application. Annexure-A may be referred for the prescribed qualification against each of the posts.

2. Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.

3. Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI for the post of Technicians unless otherwise specified. Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).

C. Nationality/Citizenship

(i) A candidate must be either:

a. a citizen of India, or

b. a subject of Nepal, or

c. a subject of Bhutan, or

d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

f. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

(ii) A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination. However, Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.
