RBI Assistant Recruitment Notification 2016

The Reserve Bank of India invites applications from eligible candidates for 610 posts of “Assistant” in various offices of the Bank. Selection for the post will be through a country-wide competitive Examination in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main examination followed by an Interview.

# Reservation for PWD/ EXS is horizontal reservation and included in the vacancies of various categories. PWD candidates applying for Offices where vacancies are not reserved for them will be eligible for upper age limit as available to PWD candidates. The reservation under various categories will be as per prevailing Government Guidelines at the time of finalization of result.

C. Salary of RBI Assistant & Career Prospects

Basic Pay: Rs. 14,650/- pm (i.e. ₹ 13150 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates only)

Pay scale: 13150-750 (3)-15400- 900(4) -19000-1200(6)- 26200- 1300 (2)-28800-1480(3) – 33240 – 1750 (1)- 34990 (20 years)

Gross Monthly Emoluments: ₹ 32124/- (approx)

Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, etc.

Perquisites: Bank’s accommodation subject to availability, reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, newspaper, telephone charges, book grant, allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. Free dispensary facility, reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment/hospitalization, interest free festival advance, leave fare concession, loans & advances at concessional rates of interest for Housing, Car, Education, Consumer Articles, PC etc. Selected Candidates will be governed by the ‘defined contribution New Pension Scheme (NPS) in addition to the benefit of Gratuity.

Promotions: There are reasonable prospects for promotion to higher grades.

Posting: Selected candidates will be initially posted in RBI’s office within the Recruitment Zone for which they had applied. However, they are liable to be transferred in administrative exigencies to centres grouped and classified into West, South, North and East Zone offices as under:

(a) West Zone: Ahmedabad, Bhopal (including Raipur), Mumbai (including Belapur), Nagpur, Pune and Panaji
(b) South Zone: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
(c) North Zone: Chandigarh (including Shimla), Jaipur, Jammu / Srinagar, Kanpur, Lucknow (including Dehradun), New Delhi.
(d) East Zone: Bhubaneswar, Guwahati (including all North Eastern states), Kolkata, Patna (including Ranchi)

D. Eligibility Criteria for RBI Recruitment 2016 of Assistant

(a) Age (as on 07.11.2016)

Between 20 and 28 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 08/11/1988 and not later than 07/11/1996 (both days including) are only eligible to apply. Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit: Upper age limit will be relaxed as under :

(v) Widows/divorced women/ women judicially separated who are not re-married By 10 years
(vi) Candidates domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 1st January, 1980 to 31st December, 1989. By 5 years
(vii) Candidates having work experience in Reserve Bank of India To the extent of number of years of such experience, subject to maximum of 3 years.

NOTE: Cumulative Age Relaxation will not be available either under the above items or in combination with any other items.

Candidates seeking age relaxation are required to submit copies of necessary certificate(s) at the time of interview. (b) Educational Qualifications (as on 07.11.2016): i) At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

ii) A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.

iii) Candidates applying for post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office. (c) Scheme of Selection: a. Preliminary Examination:

E. Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern for RBI Assistant Exam

The selection process for RBI Recruitment 2016 will be through two stages of Online Examinations and an Interview. Note:

I). All sections, except English language, will be available bilingually (both Hindi and English).

II).There will be sectional cut offs as well as overall cut offs.
III).There will be negative marking. A penalty of 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
IV).Final selection will be on the basis of the candidate’s total performance in the Mains Exam and Interview.

A. Preliminary Exam Pattern

This will be a 100 mark paper with a composite time of 1 hour. It will be an online objective test.

B. Main Exam Pattern

Those who qualify through the Prelims Exam are eligible to write the Mains Exam. This will be a 200 mark paper with a composite time of 2 hours. It will be an online objective test.

C. Interview

The interview is worth 35 marks.

  • You will receive a provisional Registration Number and Password. Make sure to note these down and save them.
  • Upload your scanned photo and signature meeting the stated requirements.

  • Preview your entire application carefully.
