National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 Notification Details

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national level medical entrance test basically conducted for the students appearing for MBBS and BDS courses all over in India. From the year 2016 onwards, AIPMT exam has been replaced by NEET examination. Last year, total 11,38,890 candidates seat in the examination. The process of NEET 2018 online application will be held from 08.02.2018(Thursday) to 09.03.2018 (Friday). According to the board of official organisor the NEET 2018 will be exactly same as NEET, 2017. The exam will be conducted on 06.05.2018(Sunday). The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper in all languages.

Steps for Filling Application Form

A candidate can apply for the NEET (UG) only on-line by logging on to www.cbseneet.nic.in.

Before submission of application form, make the following preparations:

1. The information desired to be filled in the online application such as names of Father/Mother and Candidate with correct spellings, Aadhaar Number/ Aadhaar Enrolment Number/Registration Number Issued by CBSE Facilitation Number/ Passport number/Ration Card Number/Bank Account Number/Other valid Govt.

2. Identity Card Number, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number, E-mail ID, etc.

3. Candidate should have scanned images of his/her latest Photograph (size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb) and Signature (size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb) in JPG format only, for uploading as part of submission of online application.

Process of Submission of Application Form

1. Log on to official website www.cbseneet.nic.in.

2. Download the Information Bulletin and Replica of Application – 2018 and read it carefully to understand eligibility criteria and other requirements for submission of online application.

3. Go to the link “Apply On-line” and open the same.

4. Read the instructions and procedure for on-line submission of Application Form carefully. At the end of this page, following four links to apply online are given:

(a) Fill in the on-line application form Step-1 and note down the registration number.

(b) Upload images of photograph and signature in JPEG format at Step-2 of the application.

(c) Make payment of fee as per available options in Step-3.

(d) Take print out of Confirmation page(s) at Step-4 of online application form and preserve it for future reference alongwith copy of proof of fee deposited.

5. Open the link “Proceed to apply online NEET (UG) – 2018”.

6. Follow the instructions and complete the process of submission of application form.

E. Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Candidates must be an Indian citizen. OCIs/NRIs/PIOs/FNs candidates are also eligible to apply.

Aadhaar Card Requirement: Indian National candidates must have an Aadhaar Number to apply for NEET exam.

Age Limit:

Minimum – The minimum age limit is 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

Maximum – The upper age limit for NEET(UG) is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category and persons entitled for reservation under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Qualification: Students must have passed/appearing 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology or any other elective subject with English.

Percentage Criteria:

In respect of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks instead of 50% marks for General Candidates.

In respect of candidates with Bench Mark Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 45% instead of 50% for General category candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

F. Marks Scheme Details

Each item carries 4 marks . For each correct response the candidate will get 4 marks . For each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.
